Para el menú de la izquierda a mí me gusta que se vean directamente las categorías de post (en los blogs que visito). Me resulta más sencillo y me hace darle a los enlaces de vez en cuando para ver post viejos

I also liked the other one a lot. I think the idea of making it simple is good, but it could be nice to combine the old model’s “welcome picture” and background. Don’t you think a more colourful welcome looks nicer?

Well, I am still working on this new theme. Part of what I want to achieve is to give priority to the ‘main’ content (i.e. the posts themselves), and get rid of all the sidebar clutter (which used to contain Flickr pictures, blogroll, buttons…). And I also want the site to have a cleaner look (and, hopefully, load faster).

I will shortly add some small graphic to the header, and probably also change the colors in the stylesheet, to make it a bit warmer, as people have suggested.
