Part of what I want to achieve is to give priority to the 'main' content (i.e. the posts themselves), and get rid of all the sidebar clutter (which used to contain Flickr pictures, blogroll, buttons...). And I also want the site to have a cleaner look (and, hopefully, load faster). I will shortly add some small graphic to the header, and probably also change the colors in the stylesheet, to make it a bit warmer, as people have suggested.
