Book Notes: Axiom's End

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Axiom’s End is a fun action-packed page-turner. The main character, daughter of an Assange-style whistleblower, encounters an alien who is visiting Earth on a rescue mission for a group of his kin that has been held in US government facilities for decades. Lots of action, explosions, fights and running away from the CIA ensues.

It is unclear why the connection of the main character to her estranged leaker father is relevant, and this part of the story felt tacked on for me. Perhaps it will be explored further in a sequel.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the story is the bond that develops between the earthling and the alien, and the complexities and limits of communication and empathy across species boundaries.
