Book Notes: Nimona

Nimona is a comic about a shapeshifting girl that joins a villain as his sidekick.

The plot is forgettable. But the story is carried by well-developed characters, quirky humor, and ambiguity around who is actually the villain. The art is cute and unique, adding to the whole. Also, Nimona sometimes changes into a cat, and cats make everything better.

The book left me with a sense of warmth, tinged with sadness and hope. An hour well spent.
